Armstrong's management kept him away from all the top WWs during his WW reign because they knew he was too small.

Anyone thinking Armstrong stands a chance against top WWs is living in lalaland

    What about Ceferino Garcia?

Armstrong drew with Ceferino Garcia for Garcia's title, and had beaten Garcia earlier at WW.... I believe. Armstrong crushed Barney Ross when Ross was at the end of his career.

Luis Rodriquez was a "flurry" type fighter and gave Griffith serious trouble.

Armstrong by split decision .....if only for a one-fight situation.

I think Griffith would have been too big and strong for Armstrong, who is one of my favs.

Bump. Interesting match up. Tough to pick. Head says Armstrong but it's also hard to pick against Griffith. As inconsistent as Griffith can be he is capable of outpointing Henry Armstrong if he remained focused. Still impressive how he outboxed Dick Tiger.

Emile Griffith probably. Big, muscular, and a good technician with better feet than Henry. Outweighs Henry considerably and would be the much taller man. Probably keeps him at the end of his jab and moves a lot to try avoid allowing Henry to get set.
