I just thought of this fight would be a great fight for how every long it last.

who do you guys think would win this?

Could henry get inside quick enough to take some of titos power away and wear him down.

or would TITO blast him away.

A guy with some of the greatest stamina ever and will vs a guy with some of greatest power ever seen at 147 dude was a huge welterweight.

Armstrong definitely makes things interesting, but ultimately is too small.

Armstrong roughs him up inside, but Tito is unflappable and is good at pushing his opponent off to get the space he needs to fire his power shots.

Armstrong is a monster for any lightweight and most JWWs, but I think the size disparity is the difference.

All things being equal, Armstrong probably beats Tito. But that's p4p.

At 147, FTT was too big and had too much power. If there had been a chance that this could have been fought at JWW, then Hammerin' Hank may have had a chance.

But what a dream match that would have been!

    When is the weigh in?

Hank was a much better fighter, and would have a good chance against any welter. If Tito would be 147 for the fight itself Hank could take it. Problem is Tito wasnt a true welter, and with the weigh in the day before he would come in around 160. That would probably be to big for Armstrong, considering how good and powerful Trinidad was.

I have a very hard time seeing Felix beating Homicide Hank, they are separated by 1 maybe 2 levels. Armstrong by UD.

Trinidad at 147 was devastating, and it's the wrong weight for Armstrong, who wasn't a big puncher to began with at lower weights much less at welter. Plus Armstrong being super aggressive and easy to hit would lead to disaster for him. Eventually, Trinidad would land something and stop Armstrong within 10rds after a rough start .

Tito was a huge puncher and would be close to 20lbs bigger, eventually his power would make the difference. Armstrong might last the distance but would eat too many bombs.

15 years ago when all of titos flaws were settling in .. he was becoming sinfully under rated .. all his work and the fact that he was indeed undefeated at 147 was being tossed right out the window in his H 2 H matches at 147 .. this is an interesting fight ... henry is jumping on tito from the word go .. he's dropping tito maybe even a couple times in first few rounds .. tito was like that you had throw a few hand granades to get him to come out of his cave but once he's out of the cave ...henry may be in for the fight of his life .. because tito is coming and he's coming vicious and fast .. he's gonna bomb henry down he'll drop him in the middle rounds as he starts to bring the fire .. henry isnt' going anywhere fast though he's been in wars before .. he's no stranger to this .. so he'll keep his nose hairs firmly planted into titos chest hairs .. but it's this style that will be his downfall .. he'll be right there for tito to swing at ... and each time tito jars him with that left it's gonna be the worst day of hanks life ... I see tito ending the war by the 11th round .. he's ending the fight I have no doubt hank is gonna be right there for him to hit ..

dang good match up OP! I just think tito has too much fire power at 147 .. he was like a phoenix he had this crazy ability to rise out of the ashes of defeat and just throw hell and brimstone back at you

It continually surprises me, that with all the love of Boxing and the apparent knowledge thrown around these Boxing Forums... How so many posters CONFUSE WEIGHTS Divisions with Reality?

Hank & Trinidad ARE two Different Animals.

Welters of the last 40 years or so ARE Middleweights cum L-HWs in Hank's Era!!!

STOP using Weight Classes as playing field, from the PAST to the Present it is NOT Equal.

Fighters weighing 147 (Generally Speaking), were either side of 5'6" in Height and Fighters Standing either side of 6' tall were L-HWs (Generally Speaking) in the 40s and such decades.

2 Different Animals... Hank today would boil down to BANTAM and finish his career at FW ish!
