A tremendous match up with non stop punches thrown and intense action. Might have to take the naturally bigger Kid Gavilan to use his range and flashy combos to outpoint Armstrong. Gavilan was a hard guy to out slug, was the more versatile fighter, and certainly had a great chin along with toughness who would be able to handle Armstrong’s aggression and power.
Imo,I would give Henry a chance if he managed to close the gap somehow,but yeah that's kind of impossible. It would take a good jabbing and roughhousing fighter (Billy Graham for example) to trouble Gavilan imo,and their height and reach at least should've been quite equal to Gavilan.
