"WHAT?" I hear some exclaim! A heavyweight against a Middle/Super Middleweight! But think about it. There would have been a balanced meeting of the weights in this hypothesis. Henry Cooper boxed at a weight which was well inside today's cruiserweight limit while Chris Eubank ended his career in that division. Take the Cooper of 1963 who gave The Greatest a bit of a shock versus the Eubank who fought valiantly with Carl Thompson.
Intresting one, Stevie. I've got Eubank bravely taking coopers best shots, trying to land something good enough to hurt him or cut him. But I think the left hooks take their toll on Chris and, as he did against Thompson, he gets stopped on his feet But maybe the cards aren't too far apart and Eubank doesn't come out disgraced. Nice one buddy.
Thanks,Fergy. Much as I see this one. Chris' best hope of victory is that Henry gets cut badly enough for the fight to be stopped. And,yes,Eubank does make it competitive.
Yeah as pointed out Eubank was only stopped in 2nd Thompson fight on a eye injury, that didn't full recover from the 1st meeting with Thompson. I actually thought Eubank in the 1st half of the 1st Thompson fight was very impressive, his movement and combinations looked very sharp at the weight and he still had power. I actually think if Eubank didn't still have mental demons from 2nd Watson fight, he may of been able to actually stop Thompson but i guess we'll never know. As for Eubank vs Cooper well Eubank had a chance of winning on cuts, but i tend to think the bigger stronger man in Cooper, would wear down Eubank and maybe stops him late or wins a decision, depending on if this is 12 or 15 rounds.
