Seems to be a lot of Don Cockell on here recently, this fight seems very 50/50, both tough fighters, but limited, although Cockell wasn’t the worst technically, but Cooper most likely hit harder. Who wins this matchup?
The much quicker Cockell takes this one on cuts. He kept his feet against the brutal Marciano for several rounds. A single hook from from the single handed Cooper would be very far from adequate to do the job. At one point, Don blasted Rocky with a head spinning right. Henry simply didn't have the chin to remain on his feet from one of those.
I like my man Henry's chances here. Other than pulling a win on cuts I don't see how Cockell can overcome Henry's relentless pressure and devastating hooks.
Hard to say for sure given the amount of inconsistency on both sides. My guess is that it would at least be competitive regardless of who triumphs
I like Cockell's body of work better. His #2 ranking perhaps makes him look a bit better than he was, even given the issued with the era, but he burned a little bit brighter than Coper.
Cooper was winning rounds on the version of Muhammad Ali that didn't lose rounds almost beat peak Bugner and outpointed peak Folley. Knocked out Davis in 1 round who was 6 ft 4 and on a streak. Beat London 3 times including taking his 0 with a 1st round KO. Cooper was inconsistant in terms of winning the big fight but he was on a different level than Cockell.
