Henry Hank vs 90's Middles

i know next to nothing about hank so i'm gonna enjoy reading this thread as it unfolds

 

Well I had a well thought out and detailed post I was about to write but my feelings are hurt now.

 

Hank was OK, had good head movement, decent skills....he resembles SRR sometimes in my opinion.....
He would be able to beat Collins maybe I think......But not the others, Benn and Calzaghe would beat him with ease in my opinion.....

 

I doubt Benn would beat him with ease. There's little chance of Benn knocking Hank out, and we know what could happen to middleweight Benn if he couldn't knock his man out. Hank had an iron chin and good, consistent head movement to go along with it.

I think it should be in any honorable mention category when the best chins are discussed. The guy was hard as nails. I also disagree that Benn beats him easily, if at all. At Middleweight I might well favor Hank by stoppage down the line, actually.

 

I was a bit harsh with the word "ease"......I just think Benn was a better fighter all things considered......And yes, very true, Hank had a very good chin...I never thought about it before......

The greener 160 Benn I cant see beating Hank to be honest.

He will punch himself out trying hard for a KO that just wont come...Hank had a very big punch aswell.

Joe is a bad fight for Hank as he is to busy and quick.

I think Hank is a very bad fight for G-man..Gerald wont wipe the floor with him inside a couple of rounds, he is going to be in for a long and bruising fight. A lot of the moves Benn use to basically neutralise G-Man's telegraphed bombs I think Hank does just as well if not better, plus he has that sensational beard to back it up.
I reckon Hank outpoints him or grinds out a late stoppage.

 

Well, he was only stopped once in a hundred fights, and this against a peak Bob Foster while Hank was past his prime, with Hank going the distance in a rematch. He faced the best middleweights and light heavyweights of his time and was never a man to back away from a firefight. He had a great chin no doubt.
