The sweat that sprayed off Lundy's head, with some of the last punches he got hit with, reminded me of the last few punches in Ali/Foreman.
Yeah, that was one of the WORST stoppages I've seen. For crissakes, the guy was on his feet, and hadn't even hit the canvas in that round. Modern refs are ridiculous. I prefer the old days when refs let fights go to their natural conclusion.
are you serious?? His lights went out for a split second, he was one good punch away from a sleep over at the hospital.
after taking a few shots while sitting on the ropes his hands dropped momentarily and as the ref made his move to stop the fight he brought his hands up i would say that if i was a ref i would have stopped it too. remember one punch to late can change your whole lifestyle.
I can't believe anybody defends this crap! Modern boxing fans are so squeamish. Back in my day the fans got PISSED at this ****. Fights should go to their NATURAL finish, not be stopped prematurely!
Yeah. We need more Ali's. atsch Of course, between your avatar and your posts I'm starting to think you may be speaking of personal experience here. :rofl
Hell ya!! We need a lot more guys to turn out like Denny Moyer, Jerry Quarry, or Bobby Chacon! That is, by God, excactly what the sport needsatsch
This is boxing. Risks are part of the game, as it is MEANT to be conducted. If you are squeamish about injuries, maybe you should become a tennis fan, or perhaps volleyball. ***** refs and fans are RUINING this sport!atsch
Yeah, he was ready to get KTFO. Maybe a bit early on the stoppage, but like someone said, the ref actually did him a favor. What about the KD in round 8??? Holy ****, I can't remember arms & legs flying all over the place like that! Lundy really took one squarely on his chin. He;s lucky he got up from that one. :bbb
after seeing him get off the floor the first time with a quick return to senses i thought when the ref jumped in he was giving him a standing 8, figured hed hold the next 30 and run out the 12th to a decision win. meanwhile the back/forth between southpaw and orthodox left him standing right in front of him (and the dropped hands just not smart at any time), too bad he was in control the majority of the fight, i guess 'too easily' and got himself caught.
