Friday, March 15 on the Farmer vs. Carroll undercard in Philly @ Lightweight (135 pounds). Both Lundy and Sparrow fighting at home as they're from Philadelphia. Lundy (29-7-1) 35yo, very experienced and skilled athlete, fought very good opposition (Crawford, Postol, Beltran, Molina Jr., Abdullaev, Dulorme) and looks like the much bigger guy in here. Sparrow (9-1-0) still a "prospect", was suspended for last 12 months i think because of a positive drug test after his last fight vs. Jesus Serrano in March 2018. Sparrow might be "undefeated" but lost a disqualification in 2015 so his 0 is gone. So he has the he skills to compete on a decent level? I watched his fight vs. Isaelin Florian and he was dropped hard twice there and Florian not a well known puncher or heavy hitter. I am not quite sure if he's able to take the best punches of Lundy who has pretty decent power. The other question is if Lundy still has enough left to compete with a fresh and motivated rookie? 35 is pretty old at 135 and Lundy was involved in many many wars and took some punishment for sure. He might beat Sparrow comfortably or he might get exposed as an old and way past his prime fighter who should retire more sooner than later. Both are possible scenarios imo although i think the first one is much more likely. Thoughts?
