Supposedly this is what ESPN2 is angling towards for a summertime FNF, now that Lundy got by "Dangerous" Dannie Williams (and assuming Katsidis gets by Albert "Tornado" Mensah on their next show in two weeks...) So who would take this? :think
I think it would safe to say that Lundy wins this. Katsidis is nnothing more then a punching bag at this point in his career.
Thing is, based on his 2011 form I do think Mick is down as a world title threat...but, he's still looked (as recently as against Burns) a nobler breed of brawler than John John Molina... :think Has Lundy learned how to not fold? How to not lose his head and make mistakes? Kats will damn sure make him pay for any...
Lundy does leave his chin there for the taking. If Williams had gotten that KD punch turned over it would have landed harder and on the chin. I'll have to watch the replay because the ESPN.com website stream was pretty weak. That said, even had Williams remained calmer and not blown his wad in the second he might still have had a chance. But going for broke AND getting caught clean slowed him down after the second. A more experienced fighter has a good chance even if he is a little on the down side.
See how Mick does against the Ghanian who I know absolutely nothing about...I think he should retire soon but I don't really think because he lost to superior fighters with bad styles for him that it necessarily means he is finished as a world class fighter. Lundy is an aaight ESPN almost BAD/SHOBOX level fighter...I was under the impression Kats had left lightweight but I'm not totally sure.
Lundy by stoppage in 10. It's really the footspeed and handspeed that would do Katsidis in. He'll start well, like he usually does but slow down and be picked apart. Ref comes in due to the wars kats has been in and stops it
Lundy started his career at 140... Still goes up to 140 for fights every now and then.... He's the naturally bigger guy. faster guy, better boxer, has some sting to his punch.... But leaves himself open enough to Katsidis and his power to stay in the game.... For a guy that can box well, Lundy does't mind slugging it out... This fight could go either way, but this end the same way it ended for David Diaz... Lundy stoppage
Despite Lundy overall looking very good, he got shaken a few times. With Katsidis bringing his workrate and his chin, I think he could very easily win this, or force a controversial close decision.
Lundy would bring him deep and drowned him later in the fight. Too fast and slick. Katsidis has a punchers chance but his face will look like Mr Potatoe head after 6 rounds.
