Agreed. I just watched that fight two days ago for the first time since it was live. He clearly one and should have been the first German Heavyweight champ since Schmeling.

stiffed 3 times in a row, he seems a happy and content man today but that must have really killed his passion

Watched Moorer v Axel as Iv never watched it fully. Heard it’s pretty polarising. We all know the foreman and Botha story. Here’s my score-

    Round
    1 Moorer 9-10 axel
    2 Moorer 10-9 axel
    3 Moorer 9-10 axel
    4 Moorer 10-9 axel
    5 Moorer 9-10 axel
    6 Moorer 10-9 axel
    7 Moorer 9-10 axel
    8 Moorer 10-9 axel
    9 Moorer 9-10 axel
    10 Moorer 9-10 axel
    11 Moorer 10-9 axel
    12 Moorer 10-9 axel

total - 114-114 draw. Axel the nearly man!!! Haha.

I will try and dig out the old threads. Both were decent fighters and Grigorian was a long reigning LW champ who made something like 17 defences I think

Old threads but a copy and paste below

The ATGs thread Pt 3 Fabrice Tiozzo

Fabrice Tiozzo should be appreciated more than he is, in my opinion.
    Read on...

    1. Tiozzo was a 3 time world champ winning a world title at LHW (WBC)before going up to CW (WBA) and winning another world title and then dropping back down and winning another world title at LHW (WBA)

Consider how when R Jones Jnr went up and down in weight it took along time before he started to look good at the weight again. The loss of weight didnt affect Tiozzo.

    2. Tiozzo made 7 title defences over 3 different reigns and was a winner of 10 world title fights

Consider how Adamek is considered a good fighter by many, yet Tiozzo had more LHW title victories than Adamek and beat better fighters. Also Tiozzo had a longer CW reign

    3. Tiozzo's reign was impressive

    Look at who Tiozzo beat
E Smulders who was an undefeated 25-0 European LHW champ who beat Y Davis
M McCallum when McCallum was WBC LHW champ. Tiozzo clearly beat and Knocked down McCallum on the way to becoming world champ. It was after this victory that Jones later challenged McCallum and Toney was finally able to clearly beat McCallum, yet Tiozzo had already achieved this feat, which is a forgotten thing
E Lucas who went on to become WBC SMW champ. Once again Jones fought this fighter after Tiozzo had shown the way.
N Miller when Miller was WBA CW champ. Miller was making his 5th defence when Tiozzo took his title.
S Branco the WBA LHW champ
D Michalczewski. When Tiozzo beat Dariusz, Dariusz was an amazing 48-1, with his only loss being a contraversial SD loss that many thought he won. Tiozzo was just too strong knocking Michalczewski down and then finishing Dariusz with unanswered punches. This was Michalczewskis only stoppage defeat and the only time he was completely dominated.

In 1995 Tiozzo was the #3 LHW in the world behind Maske and Hill. A decade later after leaving the division Tiozzo once again became a top 5 LHW. In 1998 Tiozzo was the #1 CW in the world.
The first time Tiozzo challenged for a world title he lost by SD only to ATG LHW V Hill who was having his 18th world title fight. Tiozzo came back from that loss and became a European LHW champion, where he made 2 defences.
Tiozzo lost a 2nd time to Hill by a shocking 1st round KO for Tiozzos WBA CW title, which was the only time Tiozzo was ever stopped. It was a shocking loss by like a true ATG, Tiozzo came back stronger rebuilt and won the WBA LHW title before scoring one of his biggest victories over LHW ATG and Hill conqueror Michalczewski.
Tiozzo defeated McCallum before Jones faced him, and many call McCallum one of Jones best LHW wins.
Tiozzo was a 3 time world champ first becoming a LHW world champ, then a CW world champ and then a LHW world champ again, and proved he a 2 weight ATG

As a feral lad, he roamed the mean streets of Treuenbrietzen, hustling thru the risky underworld behind the Iron Curtain. Known to throw down for no reason at all, he was feared as a menace, an intimidator. He was able to the harness those native instincts into quite a career, ruling the ring with an Iron Fist.

A big problem I find is that if fighters aren't predominantly based in America, I tend to think many American fans don't really rate them as much. I could be wrong as that is only my opinion but just how I find it on here. They don't get the hype I guess.

I remember when Sergio Martinez fought P Williams and I felt there was a sort of feel from fans on here that America had discovered a great hidden fighter, but at that time Martinez was in his 30s and had already been appreciated as a good fighter in Europe years previously
That is all only my opinion and probably badly explained

    Do you know Grigorian?

Of course, It’s hard sometimes on here pointing out obvious national bias in boxing without being banned or called the R word, but I feel fighters who hail from a country in the west north of Mexico have the deck stacked in their favour.

or are thought of as vastly more talented than what is true to the eye e.g broner, porter(sorry I hate his T. rex style), wilder- imagine wilder was European?? I can hear those from the west now ‘Brian Nielsen no2 etc’. We could go on and on. Fury is regularly hated on despite clearly being exceptionally talented.

Wilder v ortiz 1- that was shady as anything, nobody will convince me otherwise

fury getting a point taken off and a knockdown not called v wilder

that’s just off the top of my head.
