He’s free to debate, but you’ve put together a fairly convincing argument for this tiozzo chap being a forgotten world champ.

so I’m all ears for any rebuttals but again, stats are stats. They won’t change, ever.

    You have done some homework.
With Grigorian, he was at the end of his career and getting older for a LW when he lost, but in his prime he was a very good champ.
Consider how he beat Pitalua over 8 years before Pitalua fought Valero for a vacant title at the weight.
When he was a reigning LW champ, I recall some hype for Mosely but when Mosely became LW champ, Grigorian had already been a LW champ for over a year and arguably Mosleys big LW win was P Holiday.
They were both LW champs at the same time at one point

As an uneducated student of tiozzo, his record looks pretty damn impressive

    48-2 record

    9-2 in world championship fights

    2 weight champ

    notable wins (world champions defeated)

    Dariusz m
    Mike mccallum
    Silvio Branco
    Eric Lucas
    Nate Miller

    looka decent scratching the surface

Of course he is free to debate, but that is not something that I find he does. I feel that if he doesnt see written what he wants to see, he cant really take counter points even when they are in front of him. Hence there is obviously something in the post about Tiozzo that he doesnt like, but doesnt want to directly say, so has childishly tried to make names like King of Spin, because there is something there that he doesnt want to see written, but cant dispute that something because it is a fact.
Lets get to the bottom of it and find out exactly what was written that caused such distress @Loudon

    Im getting old mate.

You may have seen Erdei who was an excellent LHW champ and 2 weight champ. He is another forgotten champ.
If not, I can try and find the tribute thread I did for him

No. His soul wasnt taken. He lost a debatable decision at the end of his career. He was a 2 weight champ

Zsolt Erdei went 33-0 won WBO LHW and WBC CW titles, making 11 defences of WBO LHW title before he relinquished
Some of the wins below -
Gonzalez WBO and arguably Lineal champ
undefeated Garay twice who became WBA LHW champ
    Sahnoune former WBA LHW champ
Ulrich who became European LHW champ
and went up to CW to win the WBC title against G Fragomeni giving away alot of weight in the process

an old thread I did below you may like to view

A bit of an alteration and cut and paste from an old post below...

Zsolt Erdei is another who deserves more respect and credit, hes an undefeated former 2 weight world champ

Erdei beat Gonzalez Ring #2 LHW who had just contraversially beaten Michalczewski

Erdei beat undefeated H Garay twice who went on to become WBA champ and has a victory over current WBO LHW champ Braehmer

Erdei beat A Lakatos who has only lost to undefeated fighters and was scheduled for an int WBO LHW title shot, with the winner to be full champ if Braehmer is forced to vacate. Lakatos had to withdraw

Erdei beat M Sahnoune the world rated former WBA LHW champ who had only lost once. A very good win.

Erdei beat Ulrich the European LHW champ

Erdei beat Barashian who has a victory over Ulrich

When Cloud and Erdei didnt happen,
Erdei gave away 17 lbs at the weigh in and went up a division and fought away to win the WBC CW title off of Fragomeni.

Look at the double standards when it comes to Erdei -

Erdei beats Murdoch then after that Murdoch is a good enough opponent for D Green the world rated CW
Erdei beats Santiago by KO, then Santiago is an OK opponent for Tarver in Santiagos next fight
Erdei beats Abron yet Abron is an OK opponent for Yusaf Mack, Adjamu and Brudov.

Michalczewski should arguably have been Ring LHW champ (for his win over Hill. If you followed the original line of the Rings old title belt which disappeared and then reappeared and was awarded to Jones, which would now make Erdei the Ring champ .

Santiago who Erdei beat is now having another title shot and lets remember how Erdei has just easily beaten Americas best SMW of the decade B Mitchell :good

You see. He didnt want to answer what he couldnt debate

No doubt he will replay, but is having to think long and hard about his answer.

Probably be something like you cant use stats for a debate, but then forgets that is exactly what he does do when it suits.

    Wait for it

im intrigued as to why he thinks he’s so terrible.......

I dont necessarily think he thinks he is terrible. From my previous postings with @Loudon , Im guessing it is more to do with something I have written that has irritated him rather than me crediting a (what I think is) forgotten champion.
He cant actually say anything I have written is incorrect, but obviously doesnt like something so tries to argue with stats and facts, and that is where he falls down.
Wait for it and see how right/wrong I am. He wont admit what I say, so look for the signs in what he replies with
