Offensively he's solid enough, I like that he throws combinations for the better part of three minutes. Maybe spent a little more energy than he needed to on bursts that clearly weren't having much effect once Williams balled up into a defensive shell - could maybe work on picking his angles. A guy like Rubin, however, doesn't exactly come forward and offer that many openings - not at this stage anyway (I've read that his fight with Echols last year was actually pretty exciting). And even though he connected a good deal flush without a legit KO, I can't say it's an indication that he lacks pop, as Rubin's chin seems to be okay and he doesn't get too discouraged even while getting hammered (what was the deal with that first round loss? Unseen shot?)

Defensively, not much to comment on. He didn't much respect anything Williams had for him.

Thanks for the insight. Hopefully, I'll get to see Henry again soon.

Yeah, Rubin's fight with Echols was a pretty good scrap.

As far as his first round KO loss, a lot of factors played in. You never know what you were getting back then with Mendoza; he had knocked out Michael Olajide's kid brother the year before in another big updset, but had dropped a couple of decisions in the meantime. He could really crack, and he jumped on Rubin right from the opening bell and caught him cold with a right that knocked Williams out. I don't think it even went 30 seconds.

Rubin was always technically sound but he never had enough power to keep a real banger off of him.

I watched the fight. I personally thought he should of gotten the nod vs Diaconu. As you can see my scorecard and see the RBR that i did here on ESB.

Henry fought pretty well, would be nice seeing more of him. He should fight somone to get him higher on the map. Somone like Woods, Shaun George, or Sylvio Branco would do, who he can beat all of them imo.

Beating Branco would get him a number 2 spot in WBC, and then he would most likely get the Johnson vs Diaconu winner after that.

I hope he learned his lesson a bit about fighting overseas.

Good fight by Henry. Nice to see he's redeemed himself after that Diaconu fight. Henry for some reason on this site gets overlooked as just a bum. Hes underrated here, hes a good boxer.

Rubin needs to hang them up, he's shot already. Won't/Can't get off, and is just a human punching bag. He's going to get seriously brain damaged if he keeps fighting, because he won't go down, and he'll keep getting the **** beat out of him over and over.

    Please, Rubin.. stop fighting.

That wasn't the greatest card, it wasn't the worst. Basically, the favorites outclassed the opponents in every fight.

I thought Henry looked real good. He's one to watch, imo.
