There was a thread a few day's back on great british come from behind victories. Don't think this one was mentioned. Great fight!

I'd never seen it before and wasn't aware of the result. So I enjoyed it immensely.

The kid Hope, on the Quigg undercard, reminded me of Wharton a little. So i watched this on Sunday, as well as Benn fight. Does anyone know what he's doing now?? One tough ****er Wharton.

Definitely doesn't get the recognition that his talent deserves. Put up a great showing against both Eubank and Benn and was just unlucky to come through at a time when the UK had such a wealth of talent at the weight.

Great post, will watch this later :good

Great fight thanks. I hadn't seen that before, Wharton had a ****ing ridiculously good chin. I remember watching him against Benn as a kid and being a Benn fan couldn't believe the shots Wharton took.

I'm told there were even more punches thrown outside the ring when he fought Benn than inside... :bbb

Fidel Castro Smith boxed his ears off. Average boxer really.

Didn't he have the sobriquet "Slugger 'O' Toole"?
    Why bother?
Fidel Castro Smith not exotic enough for him?

Cracking fight that thanks for posting, Wharton was a limited but durable slugger was he ever knocked down in his career? Those commentators were awful though and Frederic Seillier a terrible pundit, almost makes me wish I didn't understand the language!

Later on in the show they were going to show Joe Calzaghe against Tyrone Jackson...
