    relative primes

watson- technican, hidden puncher, solid defence, passive and not a great finisher

wharton- massive left hooker, brutal body assault, solid jaw, mild defence, notorious slow starter

i bet this has been done to death but i havnt doen a poll in ages so here we go

Comfortably Watson. Think he would have boxed Whartons ears off myself.

    great matchup vantage

    nah just wondered your thoughts.

reason being that some writers feel that wharton was the benitez of the fab 4 hagler,duran,leonard,hearns....benitez.
    eubank benn, whatson, collins....wharton.

oooh a possible wharton-collins match up?

  7. Wharton was a very decent fighter, tough and strong.

He maybe just lacked the quality to make it to the very top but he certainly gave it a good go against Benn and Eubank.

    thats my train of thought
against benn he took about 4 or 5 rounds to realise he was in a ring. by the 10th and 12th he was beating benn up, almost ended up destorying benns kidneys and liver. benn pissed blood for a week.

eubankwas a bit fo a shame becuase eubank just didnt let him have anything but he gave a very good performance but just agianst a not so spectaculr eubank.

  9. You're memory is better than mine.

I watched both fights at the time. I just remember Wharton as being a good honest tough fighter who could be a bit of a handful for anyone on is day.

Watson was something a bit different I always thought. More the complete fighter and a real top contender. A real shame how things turned out for him, he deserved a lot better.
