So, Herbie the 'Dancing Destroyer' Hide is on the comeback trail, but this time as a cruiser weight.

It's interesting to see how his comeback is perceived. He's definitely up there in years, but maybe the fact that he's focused on the cruiserweights and not heavies changes things.

To go off on a bit of a tangent (which is actually related to my comment re. Hide), someone else posted about the possible reasons why BoxRec isn't covering Haye/Chisora. Feel free to check out his post for why I mentioned that post. I'm not pointing any fingers at BoxRec, it just made me pause for thought.

This is where it all comes together. I had read two articles about Hide this week. One on Boxrec - http://news.boxrec.com/news/2012/herbie-hide-mystery

and one on fighthypeUK - http://uk.fighthype.com/former-world-champ-hide-back-in-training/#more-2495

The boxrec article, while having a lot of info., is completely fixated on the apparently self imposed obstacles that have kept Hide from reaching the heights.

The fighthypeuk article, focuses more on the fact that the current cruiserweight division might have some opportunities for a man of his ability.

I couldn't help but question what the boxrec guy was trying to achieve with his piece.

This is nothing new, people will look at the exact same thing completely differently. That's fine, but maybe in spite of his mistakes Hide can do something as a cruiserweight?

Thaxton is training him, Herbie's a dangerous fighter even at his age. I think he could beat McIntosh. Maybe European title but i think Cruiserweight at world level has got stronger since his last bout. The back end of Adamek's reign, and Haye was gone.

The WBC title which he was ranked highly was winnable, still is but two years on i'm not sure what he has left for that level. Always a danger though as mentioned..

Clever fighter and hasn't lost a fight in about 8 years. But I'm no fan of midlife crisis comebacks.

I haven't really checked to see if any other sites have confirmed it. Both of them say that it's in September and Uk.fighthype does refer to Hide's promoter staging it in Norwich, so I'm assuming that the promoter's also said that somewhere.
