Well, make some noise anyway. The last 3 fighters he has faced (at cruiserweight) have a combined record of 37-43-1. If he has any plans of facing anybody decent, he had better get on with sooner rather than later, before he gets starched by a nobody.

He's done a pretty good job of hiding recently, doing the euro circuit. We don't even see him on Eurosport. He did actually manage to hide from the british courts for a while as well...

 

He's got himself a shot at the European belt now, so it's one more shot at the big time for Herbie...or another knockout loss...

He always had everything it took to be a great champion except the chin or the ability to protect it. Plus, yeah, the guy's been a notable dickhead for most of his career.

 

Herbie Hide has the best ko percentage in boxing history, and he did okay, now he is a cruiserweight, too bad his chin is **** and his defense is ****, bad combo.

 

The joke doesn't work here because the PUNCH lines are different.


Lewis/Klitschko was stopped by ring doctor (not ref), over vehement Klitschko protest. TKO.


Hide was KO'd (not TKO'd) and Nary a peep of protest from Herbie (who was in some parallel universe after the KO).

 

Your second paragraph actually explains why he wasn't a big time player better than doubting his punch, Hide was a great puncher, terrible chin though, defence could've used a little shoring up as well, too reflex based. Doesn't matter how good a puncher you are, when you've got those limitations and aren't a huge man you're not going to be a consistent big time player.
