... for the WBC International Cruiserweight title on 23rd December. Odd time to have a fight, but I might try catching a stream of this. the undefeated nasyrov could be hide's toughest opponent since starting his comeback, although he's never fought outside russia and his record is probably very padded. if hide wins, like every other cruiserweight, he will be chasing a fight with david haye next year :nut http://www.britishboxing.net/news_2988-Herbie-planning-to-make-Haye-in-2008.html
i think herbie hide is the real deal at cruiserweight. keep bringing them on and hide will keep knocking them over! wooooo!
Nasyrov is a massively padded fighter. He fought a fighter making his pro debut in his last fight, and a fighter in his second fight the fight before. Those were his 18th and 19th fights for ****s sake. Hide will knock this can over, Hides problem after getting chinned by chinagangu in 2001, is that he is too much risk for too little reward. He will be ducked, and his career will fizzle out and he will retire after knocking over another 4 or 5 fighters and finding his path to the top blocked and the years running out.
chinned by chinagangu who i may add threw a blatent illigal shot when the referee called break. hide never recovered from that illigal shot. watch the fight
They had a rematch. And Chinwhateverhisnamewas got flattened in 1.(I remember watching both fights and thinking Herbies really fallen from grace) But Hides chin in the first bout AGAIN was exposed as bone china. The fight that pissed me off was when he fought some fat Lituanian cab driver in another comeback bout and got stopped on a cut.Was a bad result for him.His career since his loss to Bowe has been inconsistent and littered with stop start stop start vs nobodies. Hide should have made the drop to 200 and soon as the sanctioning bodies moved the weight division limit. Can he make some noise, possibly. But he doesnt have much time left. His in the last chance saloon... AGAIN!
Hide has always been on the comeback trail, due to him having one of the worst chins in the history of the sport. The only thing worse than his chin, possibly, is the level of his opponents. The last guy he fought went down 3 times and got stopped without actually getting hit. Stepping down in weight was no reason to seek out the easiest possible opponents in order to pad out his already heavily padded record.
the russian has beaten nobodies only......but at least he is a fighter who still has ambition. could be enough to beat a shot hide imo.
Hide will almost certainly win this one by KO, but perhaps he'll actually do it by landing punches in this fight, as opposed to the last fight. Hide hits so hard, many boxers can't even withstand the air currents caused by his missed punches. He once knocked out a ref with a left hook- the ref was on the other side of the ring!
Hide is ranked 15th by the WBC, 8th by the WBO, and 58th (yes, fifty eighth) by the IBO. Box rec have him 42nd in Europe. How the f**k does he get a go at the WBC International title, which could put him within reach of a possible fight with somebody decent?
why do you think mcall got a wbc inter conternental isle of white bbofc legend of boxing national belt?becuase he is a name if you want anyone to present your belt it should be somone who is A)unbeaten B)former champion C)fan fav (but has to have a decent record) hide is now fightign at cruiser a wieght he should be in to start with. he is also a light crowd fav for his knock out abillity. he may have fought nobodies but do you think those 40 fighters above him are better fighters than him:think
Not all of them, no. Truth is though, when does he ever fight people who are ranked above him? The only times he has, he got starched. His amazing power mysteriously vanished when he went up against Klitschko and Bowe, yet it's his reputation as a big hitter still keeps him in the running. He's been around for ever yet has not beaten one decent fighter, despite all the big talk.
He was fine against 15-16 stone heavyweights, but Vitali & Bowe were just tooo big for Herbie. I remember watching the Bowe fight, he made Bowe look slow and lumbering in the opening rounds, Bowe even fell over after missing hide. But once he caught and floored Hide (virtually with clubbing punches) that was it. Hide did bravely climb off the canvas a few times only to be put back down.
Again he won the opening round easily against Klitschko, and seemed to hit klitshchko with a decent shot on one occasion in the 2nd before Klitschko fired back and stopped Hide in the same round. It is also notable that in the rematch with Hide, Chingangu was almost a stone lighter than he had been in the first fight.
Hide remains the only fighter to annihilate Tony Tucker dropping him three times in the 2nd Rnd. Only Lewis Had dropped Tucker previously (twice in different rounds) but he still went the distance. I think Hide will win this by KO inside six rounds. The Russian is unbeaten in 19 but according to Boxrec has only fought 4 opponents that had winning records when he fought them. Although since Hide has moved down to Cruiserweight he has only fought one opponent out of five with a winning record. But I would still favour Hide as he has more experience and has a higher KO percentage. I do not think he would beat David Haye although Haye may need to again climb off the canvas to win.
