He has fought 45 times, and only one fight has gone the intended distance! He would have a puncher's chance against anyone, but once he gets clocked, lights out i'm afraid.
He's 11th by WBC and 6th by WBO. Great to see him in a ring with with Macca or Haye. The Macca fight could happen but as Hide is wanting criuseweight glory now an Haye fight would be very unlikely. The lad has been doing well recently fighting in Germany against modest opposition but he is starting to get more serious fights, the last fight was supposed to be even betting but Hide blew the guy away.
Hide will beat the likes of Macca and USS ****ingham. I think Macca would beat ****ingham as well. He is the weakest link on the CW division. I doubt he will get a fight against Macca. Hide is reluctant to come back to the UK as he has a few court appearances outstanding. Doubt Macca would travel to Germany.
Frank Warren wouldn't let anyone travel to Germany! In fact, he never lets anyone travel abroad anywhere, unless they back him into a corner and threaten to leave him!
I would not surprised if he got hold of a belt. As i've said he is looking pretty good against ok opposition and could soon lay claim to a title shot.
Hide does not face "ok" opposition. He built up a statistically impressive record from fighting less than "ok" opposition. 2 fights ago he stopped a guy without even laying a glove on him. Unfortunately this is what Herbie Hide has always been about. He has a decent enough dig, but only at a certain level. If he had a genuine punchers chance of glory, his record would have at least a few meaningful wins on it.
I was at the York Hall when Klitschko had him on his arse. The whole pre fight build up HH was disrespecting him and Vlad tore him to bits
