In 1994 Hide would have ran a primed heavyweight Haye outa the ring in under 3.00 mins.. Today, Hide is a step behind his old self, a capable cruiser weight but reflexes shot and power not what it was.. chin also showing small cracks, Haye win in around 4. by 3 knockdown TKO..

Hide progressively beat some very stellar opponents in a seasoning process, each time out he got better and showed bags of skill and power.. Domestic game journeymen were reduced to heaps of cold flesh in 2 rounds, decent imported heavyweights were carried out early, top guys at the time like James Pritchard, Conroy Nelson, Mike Dixon, Eddie Gonzales (who was reknowned to being a long stayer against TNT Tubbs etc..) stopped early, Ko'd Mike Bentt... WBO champ.. battered almost all of our domestic fighters who had the bottle to box him.. John Westgarth, David Jules, Michael Richards, european champ, Willie Fisher went out in a round or two, Light heavyweight challenger Frank Swindell was sent home sore and thrashed, Herbie went through all of the early decent tests and was on fire... Moorer , Akinwande , didn't want to share the ring with him so he took a flight to Vegas and challenged Bowe, the baddest heavyweight at the time apart from Lewis to have a shot at his crown.. he was out gunned but came back strong to regain against Tucker a year or two later.. Herbie had balls and was no joke.. even now aged 37 he is competing at cruiserweight to regain what he once had.. Hide was a very competent and devestating puncher who was good world class belt holder.. imo.. It took Vitali to stop him in his tracks proper...

I'd be rooting for Hide as futile as that may or may not be.

Hmm, where have I heard this before? Two explosive punchers, both vulnerable in a supposedly 'fifty fifty' fight.
One fighter acquired a WBO 'world' title having feasted on less than stellar opposition, and looked devastating in the process of doing so, whilst the other concentrated on acquiring titles in the shortest possible timespan, as opposed to padding his record with 9-20-1 opponents, annexing a unified/lineal world title on foreign soil.

Don't get me wrong I think Hide punched much harder than Enzo, and would've been a bigger threat, but I can't see this as anythign other than an early TKO victory for Haye.

Hide is crap under pressure and cannot fight on the back foot (at least from what I have seen over the last decade). Haye would put him under from the off and would have him out in 4 rounds max. Prime vs Prime is an interesting thought but maybe Haye is going to get a lot better over the next year or so.
