Does anyone have any news on what Herbie is doing these days--where is he training? any fights on the horizon--- can he keep it together to give himself a chance to train consistently to stay in shape as a cruiser?
It's all very low-key for Herbie at the moment, even though he'd won...what is it, 3...? fights at Cruiser so far, all by quick knockout. He's taking the path of least resistance at the moment, but I hope this is going somewhere soon.
|To be fair he did refuse to fight one guy because he said he wasnt good enough, he subsequently KO'd the replacement in a minute or something. Shame he cant fight in the UK though.
herbies had 4 fights down at cruiser now. his promoter was talking of matching him with that italian guy who is fairly highly ranked.....pietro aurino i think his name is. that was a bit ago now though. i hope hide does well at cruiser an exellent fighter
Auriono is good fighter, i saw him with Marco Huck, he was desqualifieted with Huck but what i saw in him he is good fighter.
Well, fighting someone ranked would be a good move. He's had some fights to test the CW waters, given his age Herbie needs to make a grab for that brass ring now.
Herbie is still trying to get into the swing of things over in Germany but has been looking very god against very inferior opposition. In a couple of fights I would expect him to be fighting around the European level, all being well.
Herbie needs to not wait for too long he is getting old --he has never taken a prolonged beating beside the Bowe fight but that was so long ago and he was young so the wear and tear of boxing has not punished his body so much--hopefully he can make his sparring in Germany with some good cruisers to make up for lost time and take on a tougher opponent each fight but three fights later he should be fighting an opponent who with a victory against --can catapault him into a title shot... let him fight Firat Arslan, after his next fight to gauge where Herbie is.....
