yup, and the angle at which you trhow your punchs ie: dont always punch the same spot or from the same position.
fundamentally, your feet should be set before throwing any punches, you can get angles off your straight punches, off stepping diagonally, off feints, when circling its probably easier and more correct to pause before punching, get into a fast rhythm with good head movement and work to angle off combinations and feints
Just imagine you're looking at a ring from overhead and there's a huge clock in it. Your opponent is standing in the center facing 6 o'clock. You are facing him on that 6 o'clock "line". Then you move your back foot sideways onto the 5 o'clock "line" while still facing him. He's still facing 6 o'clock but before he can step over with his front foot to turn a bit to face you and punch you, you throw a couple of punches instead and then get out of range. That's an example of fighting off an angle. It's about you moving to the left side or right side of his punching area but keeping him lined up within your punching area.
