    WTF.

    I see good fighters in the amateur, but they are beaten when they saw professional ... we need a new''Acelino Freitas,''which was a good fighter out of Brazil, but here was an idol and has inspired many youngsters to fight.

    I honestly know nothing about the boxing scene in Brazil at the moment, but after a quick Boxrec search, seeing this guy and his KO ratio makes me think I might be missing something:

    I mean hes only fought one guy with more than ten fights but a lot of them had some sort of winning runs so I guess he sounds decent at face value.

    bro.

    Funny that, we are the best in soccer. But in boxing, we are beaten ... had a very good amateur, I forgot his name, but one month or so, he was killed.
    we have some good guys in the amateur, but here material shortage, lack of people who really know how to teach boxing.
    Here the guys give it more punch in the wind

    Brazil is like Hawaii. Lots of talent but too many distractions and not a lot of sponsorship.

    Was it Tairone Silva? I read in the Ring he was killed by the police. They don't provide much detail but it sounds highly suspicious, do you know any more?

    Brasil has never had a strong Boxing pool, and it will be very unlikely we see a top tier fighter out of Brasil anytime soon.

    Been to Brazil. Beautiful country and people.
    They put on a Capoeira demo for me; was very impressive.

    I've also been to their famous Rio beaches--Ipanema, Copacabana.

    They sure do have lots of great distractions there!

    There are a few unknown Brazilian fighters with good records,
    I remember reading before though that some of the fights on some of the Brazilian's records are just made up, using made up fighters to win against.

    I don't know if this was true or if it still happens, but I definitely read it before.

    i think you guys could turn out better kickboxers if you had a good foundation..

    but yeah, brazillian fans are the f'n best when they travel.
