pretty much popo's fan base was about to make the transition to vladmir pereria(sp) a featherweight but after he got his first loss from a dq he disappeared completely similiar to Hamed.
exactly, Valdemir ''Sertão''. was a champion, but the first title defense was a fool, making jokes and was hit low blows and was disqualified. never fought since then, today is a doorman. but it is a good man.
Popo Freitas was a monster coming at 130 lbs undefeated with 100% ratio of KO,until he hit the real competition.A tough decision against casamayor and never wanted go for a rematch.Quit with corrales and diaz.He was a better boxer than a puncher but he lacked heart and his emotions were always ahead of him.
I read abt a guy who was already getting some press in Brazil. Young guy but I cant remember his name. Lot of amateur bouts if I remember well..boxer puncher style
It will be nice to see talent from Brazil in boxing. It seems though Brazilians belong and will be more successful in MMA these days and thats were young potential talents might be heading more and more.
E aí Kalleb ? Lack of good boxing trainers, lack of good boxing gyms, lack of good boxing managers = lack of popularity. Lack of popularity = Lack of talents. That´s why we never will be great at Boxing or Rugby, or some sports that the brazilians don´t follow......
Playing at home is big. But i dont know if its enough to win it with the crop of players Brazil currently have(probably one of the worst seleções in recent memory).
Brazil doesn't need new talent - it needs a whole goddamn pro infrastructure. Brazilian boxing is a disgrace compared to Argentinian boxing, and it doesn't really look to be improving.
