This content is protected Absolutely contraory to what people were saying and thinking, Usyk looks the same as usual, and AJ actually looks slimmer, which is the interesting part. Is he going Mexican Style with improved cardio ? Yeah this is taken a dig at all the ****** saying Usyk will be 240 or 250. Another good example of how little some people know about boxing ....
Interesting if AJ has come in even slimmer. Definitely implies he isn't going for the roughhouse and dirty tactics, tho maybe implies a plan for consistent pressure? That said, lighter weight means less power on his shots and Usyks shots in return may have more impact on him.
They've implied they're going to box again with smart pressure. Which is smart. Contrary to popular belief he had the right idea last time around but just needed to do more in key moments. Usyk's team on the other hand are saying they're getting ready for a war, for want of a better word given what's going on. I just hope Usyk fights what's in front of him and doesn't get fooled into a slugfest.
If Joshua has any mettle left in him, I think he can win. He just has to attack like he should've done the first time around and fight like the bigger man, be aggressive, realize he's going to take shots and attack Usyk with strong lead right hands. People keep going on and on about Usyk's weight, but he looks visibly older to me. I think the last year may have taken a toll. We'll see. I'm looking forward to the fight. It's nice not to have a horse in the race. If Joshua wins, I think Fury will immediately post online that he's "coming out of retirement." If Usyk wins, Fury will probably continue his "retirement charade" and we might see Usyk defend against the Hrgovic-Zhang winner or Wilder next. Either way, I hope it's a great fight. This era of heavyweights fights about as often as the champions in the late 1920s and early 1930s did. Way too much time between fights. Although, given the war, I guess this fight couldn't have happened sooner.
Interesting strategy, but I think this plays into Usyks hands, giving him more opportunities to counter and making AJ work harder from the get go and throughout. I feel like the moment Usyk pops him with a sharp counter a lot of his gameplanning will go out of the window. On the flip side i think usyk is going to hammer the body at every opportunity. Money in the bank makes for a safer fight and for a safer route to a KO - Usyk nearly got the stoppage last time even by remaining smart and patient.
Usyk has been adding weight slowly and wisely, and I see no reason why he would disrupt that now. Another example is Murat Gassiev who also moved to heavyweight when Usyk did, but already in his first heavyweight fight he weighed more than Usyk now. Two completely different principles, of which I think Usyk is wiser and more practical.
