Shane Mosley after his first loss to Vernon Forrest. He was never the same fighter, never reached the level he was once on and pretty much only beat guys levels lower or shot. After his second win over Oscar (On PEDS BTW), he went a decade w/o any significant wins over top guys until Tony Margarito (Who most here didn't even consider a top WW)

Viper took his soul that night.

I think thats a bit different. Ortiz´s best wins came after that fight, so I would not say that he got destroyed mentally on said night. Heck, he even dug deep against Berto.

Lopez broke him tho. Broke his jaw and forced him to quit. I personally did not judge Ortiz for it. His jaw was broken and Lopez was beating him up - sometimes it´s good to know when to quit.
But he also quit in his next fight against Collazo. Which was followed by lots of inactivity and then another quit job, this time against Berto.
The Berto quit job was especially egregious as 5 years prior to that Ortiz dug deep in the first Berto fight. He had heart that night.

Then years later he fought Devon Alexander, and Robert Guerrero. Two fights where Ortiz showed no ambition or desire. Then he had one more fight where he just went through the gears, and almost got stopped in the last round.
Ortiz has been rumored to fight again, but seems like all of those fights fell through. It´s like he wants to fight, but just cant bring himself to do it. Like a lazy person trying to lift weights to get big, but hardly ever goes to the gym.
