How does that affect ho much his split should be? Its what he brings to this fight that matters and I'd guess he brings less USA PPV money than Hatton brings UK PPV money.

There should definitely be a financial advantage to winning the fight.

Half the purse should be divided on drawing power (as the entire purse is now), and the other half should go to the winner.

the fair way would be a 45-45 split with the winner taking the last 10%.

It would also sell more PPV's and have more interest from the public with a gimmick like that.

this purse split thing just doesn't involve money but it's also a stature thing. if it's a 50/50 split, then pac seemingly will concede his stature as being the best p4p fighter in boxing which he has worked very hard in his career to attain. simply, pac is #1 p4p while hatton is #10. that in itself should be enough for pac to get a 60/40 split.

well he gave up a 50:50 split to oscar who wasn't in the top10, working on your theory, how did that work?

pac got a 35/65 split for the oscar fight. oscar was the acknowledged face and US PPV star of boxing. even mayweather settled for less than a 50/50 split with oscar.

very different situation w/ hatton. hatton draws UK PPVs but pac draws US PPVs as well. pac has already about 8-9 US PPV fights while hatton has only one with mayweather, a popular american #1 p4p fighter. the fight is at Las Vegas. those who will see the fight live and buy tickets will be more of pac fans rather than hatton fans. pac is already a proven US PPV draw and fills up seats in the US. same w/ hatton in the UK.

so, with all things being about equal, then it is the stature of the fighters that comes into play. that's why there was a 70/30 mayweather-hatton split. so, maybe it would be better for hatton to get the UK PPV buys and pac gets the US PPV ones and then have the 60/40 split for pac in the guaranteed purse of this fight. that should be fair.

yeah buts thats not the deal thats been offered if hatton got uk ppv buys and 40% i have no doubts he would take that and make more money than pacman by doing that.

you sure? pac is already a proven arena seat filler in the US having already had about 9 PPV fights there. his last 8 fights were all PPVs even against fighters like diaz and solis. do you think arum would've made these fights PPVs if pac can't even fill seats?

hatton's last fight w/ malignaggi wasn't even PPV in the US and there were many empty seats in that fight.

i didn't know about the malignaggi fight, did they not sell out the mgm grand, are you sure?

they could have sold out the tickets 2-3 times for castillo and mayweather.

no, there was even a story that ticket sales were moving very slowly for that fight vs. malignaggi. the castillo fight did a little better due to mexican fans buying tickets. the mayweather fight obviously sold out.

There is no way on Gods Earth that Pac fans will out number Hatton fans in Vegas or in the actual arena on fight night. To claim otherwise is just ridiculous, Hatton-Paulie got hit by the credit crunch at the live gate as did Pac-Diaz (which had an even smaller live gate).

Chert, it really doesn't make any difference how many PPVs Pac has been involved in the past, its what he brings to this fight. Hatton fills areans in the USA just as well as Pac (JLC, Urango, Maussa, Mayweather were all sold out) and he has the benefit of bringing a guaranteed 1 million + UK PPV sales as well.
