Come on Dunky, I think there's a difference between people picking Guzman to win and people wanting Guzman to win. I think most who post on here will want Arthur to win on fight night.

I think it's probably more like the cross of St Andrew or the Union Flag at the moment!

    Exactly:deal

It was actully your earlier post on this very subject tht inspired me to make this thread, I feel like an outsider on the brit forum for daring to pick Arthur!
I mean theres nuthugging, & theres Guzman loving going on here which takes the word nuthugging to all new levels.

Thanks for noticing TFFP, I cant even discuss the fight properly cos most here wont even class it as a proper fight! Its bordering on Guzmanmania...

    It's Guzmania... and it's all Amsterdam's fault.

Now thats one wager I cant be tempted to take! I will be so blotto that I will probably be typing with my forehead by the time that fights finished!

As for the Calzaghe-Hopkins fight itself, I watched Calzaghe doing the pads again in a recent clip, & Joe was frightening. I mean the speed & accuracy was simply awesome, not to mention the dull thuds that accompanied which sounded s if Joes shots had a real venom about them & it blew me away to be honest. I originally said Hopkins would cause the upset, but Joe looked SO good in that footage that Im going to change my prediction & pick the welsh dragon to win.
I know its not much to base a big fight prediction on, but sometimes its the small details that make all the difference if you look out for them. Im a big Hopkins fan, but at 43 years old I simply dont think he will have enough aces up even his long sleeve to deny Calzaghe his win. Joe says hes going to win by throwing too many punches & outworking the older man, & after seeing Joes lightning padwork, hes made me believe him.

Not a fan but I think he's too quick for Arthur.

It will go the distance though.

I just hope Alex does Britain proud and puts in a great performance. I do not mind those guys supporting Guzman but they better be ready for Guzman to lose.

    Alex by round 10KO.

I want GUzman to win, I've been following his career for a few years. I was gutted when the Harrison fight fell through, cuase Guzman was the underdog and I would have cleaned up on that.

    Dunky,

I don't want to threadjack but Calzaghe did look amazing working those pads. As you say the speed and noise the power was generating was very impressive.

Let me guess, you had a million quid on Guzman to beat Harrison. & now its on Guzman to beat Arthur. & you are not only going to enjoy watching Arthur lose, but you are going to become a billionare in the process.

I wish I was you. No, I really do.

No problem at all, Im happy to talk about it again. Some of the fastest padwork I have ever seen, accurate & powerful. & Im not a big Calzaghe fan, but I have to be truthful & admit it blew me away! Especially when he was throwing his short punches, I just dont see how a 43 year old Hopkins will be able to counteract that. Hopkins is an old master, but I dont know if even he can stop Calzaghe outworking him, & landing with telling shots in the process.

Even the americans were applauding him at the end, & I cant ignore that.
