Here's my Errol Spence Report Card... the results are terrifying.

    Spence is going to have an extremely difficult time getting fights and will be ducked by everyone from 140-160. Here is how I graded him after the Algieri fight.

    Power - A+ (even the blocked punches had Algieri falling all over the place, his blows are like thunderbolts)

    Speed - A (deceptively fast)

    Ring IQ - A+ (patient, but more stalkerish and scary than a prime Michael Myers)

    Chin - A+ (Algieri's hardest shot was akin to a stray blond hair grazing his cheek... kind of like an itch)

    Footwork - A+ (never off balance, not even for a second)

    Defense     - A+ (Algieri landed what? 3 punches?)

    Ladies and gentlemen, we are witnessing a guy who may end up being the greatest welterweight of all time. He is the most complete fighter in a long time. Right now, I could see him beating the Fab Four and Spence hasn't even reached his ceiling yet.

    Every part of his game is A+ in comparison to Algieri I agree. Let's see if his promoter wi out him against Garcia or Thurman/Porter.

    Or if he will really come over to the UK to fight Brook.

    My guess is he fights a Guerrero type next in another easy fight to showcase his credentials.

    His defense gets a b- from me, and he dowsnt seem to have much of a jab from what ive seen but hes really good.

    I'm impressed.

    I think he might have one disadvantage: He's short and not especially quick on his feet. Someone with reach who could run for 12 rounds might be able to get off with the jab and win rounds.

    Ring IQ and footwork yes A+. He is technically and tactically great. He does have very good defence, but with his front-foot, aggressive style he did get hit a bit, so I think you have to give him an A rather than an A+. You can't consider his chin perfect after only facing the punches of Algieri. But really, this was the most impressive breakout performance by a boxer in years.

    He has great defense, you cant base his defense off an opponent he had no respect for and was there only to make a statement.

    Over time his defense will be seen as elite. Hell, fmj at 26 was getting caught left and right when going for only the stoppage

    i kinda agree with this

    and i mentioned it the other day

    he had no respect for algieris offense and pop....so he was bound to leave himself open at times....but when he wants to fight defensive minded it will show
