I've criticised others' before...so time for you to criticise mine!:good Not including anyone at flyweight or below, because I am completely clueless about these divisions, I have something like this, for my Top 30: NOTE: These factors were not taken into consideration: Past achievements resume how good they are likely to become in the future rate of improvement fame/hype Only think that was taken into consideration is how good they are now at their weight relative to others at their weight, as far as I, personally, know/can establish/believe, given my experience and skills, which aren't great, as you know, so take my list with a big pinch of salt. Marquez will be better in his next fight than Calzaghe in his, so I switched them around. Floyd Mayweather Manny Pacquiao Juan Manuel Marquez Joe Calzaghe Joan Guzman Ivan Calderon Cristian Mijares Miguel Cotto Israel Vazquez Rafael Marquez Mikkel Kessler Juan Diaz Chris John Ricky Hatton Kelly Pavlik Chad Dawson Wladimir Klitschko Winky Wright - MW Arthur Abraham Cory Spinks Vernon Forrest Shane Mosley Jermain Taylor Bernard Hopkins - LHW Fernando Montiel Ruslan Chagaev David Haye Lucian Bute Anthony Mundine Edwin Valero Enzo Maccarinelli Shoot away!:bbb
Kessler above Wlad? You can start by explaining that one. If you really aren't taking the below into consideration, which means you can't take Wlads past losses if not taking his past achievements as well then why? Wlad has dominated everyone he's faced in the past few years and probably has the most KO's of anyone on that list in the past 3-5 years also. I need to check on that. Past achievements resume how good they are likely to become in the future rate of improvement fame/hype
why is winky wright higher ranked than bernard hopkins ahh least ya got ma main man Ivan Calderon in there why is mikkel kessler above , Hatton and Diaz and Pavlik? joan guzman hasnt done enough to be ranked that high
Kessler above Wlad because Kessler has been in with Calzaghe who is one of the best in the world and proved exactly how good he was. Wlad has not been with one of the best in the world recently...so...going on his performances against recent opposition...
Winky is a better middleweight than Hopkins is a LHW or 170 fighter... The fact that Hopkins beat Winky in a close fight at 170 doesn't prove that Hopkins is better. Hopkins fought at his ideal weight these days, whereas Winky fought 10 pounds over his ideal weight these days...makes a big difference. Guzman has shown he can blow B/B+ level fighters of various styles out of the water with complete ease. Put him up against A level/elite level fighters and he will prove his worth.
And he lost. And who did Calzaghe beat prior to prove he is one of the best in the world? And don't begin to knock Wlads resume, you risk sounding a bit ignorant. Wlads resume is better then Kesslers, especially recently. :deal
Because Cotto, although showing the promise he will be better than these three soon, hasn't so far dominated comparative opposition the way these three have, even though he's beaten better fighters. Not a great difference between these four though. I have also put a lot of emphasis on the Mosley fight.
I will be accused of being silly/biased/running an agenda, etc. I know...but I was trying to be completely honest and call it as I see it, objectively. I think Hopkins is a legend, an ATG, and that he was the best fighter in the world in his day (as a MW), but now, he ain't, as a LHW. Still, for a 43 year-old, he is amazin!!!:good
Nice stab, interesting criteria. Calderon should be higher on these criteria, in my opinion. Juan Diaz should also be a bit higher, perhaps, and perhaps David Haye. Do you think that Wright would beat Hopkins at 160?
Just one place under...not a big difference. I think Kessler is a better SMW than Juan is a lightweight...but I value Juan a lot, hence, Kessler and him are neck and neck! Also, I think Juan will probably end up a better fighter than Kessler...we'll see.:good
