Why is Haye so low, you talk about dominating an opponent, Haye KO's nearly everyone he faces, plus e stepped up to HW and knocked Bonin out, plus he just beat Mormeck to collect 2 more belts (?), should be higher than JT
Hopkins couldn't make 160 without killing himself...I think. It would be unfair to expect him to make 160 at his age. If he tried and somehow made 160, I am sure Winky would beat him. Would beat him at 164 too, I think, if Hopkins could make 164...(Don't think he can make less than 168 tops!) Little difference at the top for me between Calderon and PBF...but I had to put them in some kind of order. Juan Diaz, again, close to Kessler and Marquez...not a big difference...had to put them in some order. David Haye...yeah...but there's the chin...big problem...if he gets past Macca, he will climb up quite a bit. :good
Not a bad list at all, although Joe should be above Marquez under that criteria. Why will Marquez be better? There is a good chance he'll lose The only other thing I'd quibble with is Chris John being so high, and David Haye so low. Under your criteria Haye beat the recognized champ in his back yard very recently, and is obviously performing at a high level and would be a big favourite against anybody in his weight division I like that you have Calderon, Guzman and Mijares so high Good effort, 8/10
Guzman, Kesslser and Mijares way to high. Dawson should be higher than all of them. Other than that OK.
Not about belts/titles for me and not that much about winning or losing because ultimately, sometimes the line between winning and losing is very small and at other times, you dominate your opponent completely. What is important to me is how you do against that calibre of opponent. I still have questions over David's chin. If he came across an unskilled puncher with a very good chin, he might be taken out...if he goes up to HW and proves he has a better chin there, he will climb higher for me. Yeah...maybe a bit low...perhaps he should be above Hopkins somewhere...fair enough. Still unsure about him, though.:good
I think Calzaghe was better at the end of last year than JMM. JMM, the way he trains for Pacman will prove to be better than Calzaghe, the way he trains for Bhops. It was a flip of the coin, really. Don't mind Calzaghe being placed 3rd. But if Pac v. JMM is as good as Calzaghe v. Kessler was...the list stays as it is, for me.
But you have Guzman high because he dominates his opponents, and you agree they are all not world class, yet Haye dominates his more and hes near the bottom? Im not arguing Decebal, maybe I am, but not trying to be a ass, just think he should be above JT at least. Agree with your point of the chin, but there are wuestion marks about a lot of the fighters up on the list, as on any list, so it seems he is to low for me, but props for you putting the list out here for people like me to **** on!! :good
You know I am a big fan of Dawson and he has some of the best skills in the busines...but so far, he hasn't fought the very best and there big questions hanging over his chin for me. If he gets past Diaconu, his chin will prove very good for me, because I'm sure he'll get tested, and he will climb into the top 10 for me. Kessler only possibly a bit too high...but not much at all, for me. :good
He's got a point Decebel, you place emphasis on performance levels and style of victory, and David Haye (and quite a few others) are below Taylor, who has had a number of extremely "interesting" decisions. He's fought shitty, with the exception of Pavlik II
Yes, I gave you that point already. Think you're right...but look at this...Guzman has a better than very good chin...whereas Haye has a less than very good chin. No one will put Guzman down, except possibly Pac...although I wouldn't bet on it. Chin is a bid deal for me and this is why I have put David a bit too low...but still, I wouldn't move him that much further up... Chin is a big deal because you can be taken out completely by a big puncher...who might have a **** chin and little skill, too! Take Enzo Macc. He might take David out, even though he doesn't have a great chin and doesn't have elite level skills. In fact, a big puncher with a worse chin than Enzo and lesser skills could take David out completely with a lucky punch...I know it's unfair to go on about the chin, but I think a very good chin is essential at such a high level. Thanks for your comment. It has helped me improve my list.:good
:good Still not sure he should be so low, I mean, if we argue about such faults, can we not pick holes in Pavliks skill set, Calderons lack of power etc, I know you said the chin is a big deal to you, but I think you place too much emphasis on it, plus Haye has only been stopped once, and that had way more to do with him beaing completely out of gas than anything. His chin can be questioned, but did you tak into account the weight draining he has to do to make cruiser? just some more points for you decebal, not actually arguing too much, i like the list :yep
Please comment on this revised list now: Floyd Mayweather Manny Pacquiao Joe Calzaghe Juan Manuel Marquez -------------------- Joan Guzman Ivan Calderon Cristian Mijares Miguel Cotto -------------------- Israel Vazquez Rafael Marquez Mikkel Kessler Juan Diaz -------------------- Chris John Ricky Hatton Kelly Pavlik Chad Dawson Wladimir Klitschko Winky Wright - MW Arthur Abraham Cory Spinks Vernon Forrest Shane Mosley David Haye Jermain Taylor Bernard Hopkins - LHW Fernando Montiel Ruslan Chagaev Lucian Bute Anthony Mundine Edwin Valero Enzo Maccarinelli All right...I've put Haye higher. Needs to beat Macca to climb higher, for me.
