I agree generally about the threat Vernon Forrest represented.

There will always be a lot of "what ifs" surrounding him.

I think many people dodged what he brought to the table.

Another really fun one to consider, that like Forrest vs. Mayweather couldn't have really ever happened realistically because of them having virtually no overlapping campaigns in like weight divisions once they were established, is Forrest vs. Tszyu - in a rematch from the amateurs. :deal

Tszyu waxed him in '91, with both entering the pro ranks the next year. There followed a very brief period in which they could have met: from the debut of Forrest in late '92 until he beat Marlon Thomas for the IBC 140lb belt three years later in his 2nd and last bout ever at light welterweight (everything in between his debut and Thomas was at welter) - by which point Tszyu had captured a real title, namely the IBF, and defended it once against Black Mamba, a much bigger step up in class than Forrest would take for years to come. After beating Thomas, it was all welter or light middle for the Viper with no looking back - while Tszyu ended up being the kind of guy who sticks it out in one division from A to Z. So after 95 this just could not have possibly worked, and before that Forrest in spite of his great amateur pedigree was simply too slow to get himself built up, compared with Tszyu.

Tommy Hearns is the worst match up possible for Mayweather at 147 in my opinion.

Questionable? If his chin was questionable, no matter how good his defense is, in 20+ years of boxing amateur + pro it would have been found out.

Mosley hit Mayweather on the spot which scrambles your senses and we know Shane can punch, Mayweather still had his senses intact to know how to neutralise the situation then went on to control the remainder of the round.
