Just drop the belt Cotto and fight at 145lbs.

My only issue is if Pacman wins the belt at 145, it doesn't prove that he is a top WW fighter.

The WW division is upto 147 not upto 145 that's the difference

How do they determine how much to pay for the sanctioning fee? The WBO is regarded as a trinket compared to the other belts, never knew they charged this much. $300k is pretty steep.

No they were not. Pac attracts greater critism than most.

I see your point. But if Cotto is beaten, how do you feel about him still be being WBO Welterweight champion even though he was beaten within the WW range?

I think that is worse than Pac winning the title at an agreed weight between both parties.

Cotto is allowed to come in at 147 he just has to forfeit the monetary penalty. When it comes down to defending his title he is allowed to come in up to 147, therefore the title should be on the line

? Floyd is fighting Marquez who is two divisions lighter than him? That's way worse than what Pac is attempting to do.

Cotto will outweigh Pac on fightnight by 10-13pounds. NOW FOR F*CKS SAKE CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME HOW THAT IS AN ADVANTAGE FOR PAC????

    The scenarios are different.

Hopkins held all three main titles, whilst DLH had the lesser WBO strap.

In this instance, Cotto holds the WBO, whilst Pacquiao doesn't have anything at the weight.

To me, it's a no brainer. Just dump the belt. It ain't worth a $300k 'sanctioning' fee.

Why does a bout need to be 'sanctioned' by some fat ass who wouldn't know a left jab from a right uppercut?
