I scored the 1st to Tim 10-9. He was the aggressor during most of the stand-up, their takedowns canceled each other out, and his headknees in the clinch were more effective than Mariusz's leg kicks. Plus Tim held dominant top positions for most of that last minute. I was wondering what adjustments Pudzianowski with his dearth of experience would be able to make in between rounds. It's clear he's not well schooled at fighting off his back at all. Does he even know what an armbar is? Tim all but handed him opportunities on a golden platter, dangling his forearms limply on his huge chest at times. What I didn't expect was for Pudzianowski to just totally regress in the second round. As soon as Tim came at him, you could see him mentally crumbling. Then once the legs were chopped out from under him, he just flailed like a beetle on the backside of its carapace. The forearm smashes that finished him off weren't even all that heavy duty, it's pathetic that he tapped to them. He just got psychologically raped by Tim's pressure and the realization that it was all downhill from his horrible first round.
False. Randy only took him down with ease due to his technique, experience, tactic's and skill. Pudzian has NONE of those mentioned above, hes a pure Strongman who is too good for his sport so he decided to use his hard working strength in a different sport.
Sick use of the word, sir. I rarely see that used in correct context...well, rarely see it used at all!
thats sucked! pudz show no heart if he knew he was gasing he should have just thrown some haymakers, go out in style! dont tap to punches
I think it was mostly due to broken leg. I am not saying he would've won otherwise, but that would explain also some other strange things (like the last action, when he went down). Martial arts are not something you can learn in a couple of months, and Pudzianowski is still newcomer here. Apart from technique deficiences (and let's face it, boxing skills of most MMA fighters are average at best) one of the big problems I see is that he is too stiff when he fights, and this consumes his energy in no time (as one could see in his all fights but the first, which didn't last even full minute).
