I could care less how some newbie posters on a message board overreact. What idiots on a message board think differs greatly from reality.
Whats there not to get? Calzaghe knows he couldnt slap Pavlik enough to keep him off him, it would be over 12 rounds and Pavlik at some point will catch Calzaghe and then only then will we know how much Calzaghe really has! i think Pavlik will still be strong at Super-Middle, hes land enough to break Calzaghe down and by Rounds 8, 9, 10 Calzaghe will be hurting and Pavlik stops him in 10 or 11! Calzaghe wants the eaiser and bigger payday Roy Jones Offers but hes always looked for the easier fights throughout his career so why should we be suprised.
Kelly Pavlik stops Joe Calzaghe but fails to stop Jermain Taylor in their rematch. Makes a lot of sense to me.
Not everything in boxing follows a format. I think the more ridiculous argument would be saying there's no way Pavlik could EVER stop Joe C. BTW..not picking on you selfkill. i swear!
Taylor beat a younger and fresher version of BHop TWICE, and looked better doing it. That ought to tell you something! But then, I do realize, calzaghe fans are impervious to truth and fact.
I'm not a Joe Calzaghe fan. George Foreman destroyed Joe Frazier so therefore he should have destroyed Ali but he didn't.
I agree with you, but also picking Pavlik to knockout a fighter who's undefeated and has never been knocked out isn't the most likely scenerio.
Pavlik stopped Taylor in there first fight so whats not to say he cant stop Calzaghe? Saying he couldnt stop Taylor in there rematch means nothing.............good arguement he already stopped Taylor once. It would make more sense if both there fights went the distance and you said he couldnt even stop Taylor, so how could he stop Calzaghe! Taylor has a better punch than Calzaghes slap, Calzaghe got dropped by Hopkins so you best know that Pavlik has every chance and more of dropping Calzaghe also!
Tell that to Buster Douglas. But I know what you mean. My thing is, time isn't on Joe's side in this. But I wouldn't outright state Pavlik wins via KO. It's a tough fight for both. Pavlik can match Joe's output, and I don't think Joe's a hard enough hitter to keep Pavlik honest.
Are you aware that Pavlik has knocked out about 4 guys who had never been stopped. It's obvious that Joe's fans have a lot more confidence in him than he has any himself.
i am Joe's biggest fan and have stuck up for him on many occasions, but he's gotta fight pavlik if not just to shut all you yanks up. Unfortunatly though he has been on the decline since lacy and looked very average against hopkins and i think he realise's this. He's always been 1 to look at his unbeaten recoed and he knows it would be under threat if he fought pavlik,i think pavliks come a couple of years too late for him unfortunatly, but dont rule it out just yet,i think we may all be in for a suprise yet. Watch this space:good
Just because you can point to exceptions, doesn't mean it isn't valid. I'll bet it is WAY more valid MOST of the time.
