1.) The integrity of the tourny is already gone due to the robbery in the Dirrell fight.
2.) Dirrell is boring to watch.
3.) AA starts way too slow and will get exposed by anyone younger/quicker (I'm looking at the Andre's here).
4.) JT needs to retire. Whether you like him or not (I don't care for him); the guy is obviously shot and is risking his long-term health.
5.) Froch is the 5th best fighter in the tournament.

The tournament was a nice idea in theory but boxing isn't NCAA basketball. I think this format is one and done.

    Thoughts?

i remember watching jim duggan. just shows how old i am....

i dont think the tournament will be that tarnished by the decision at the end of the day but it was a poor decision.

i'm not convinced AA gets 'exposed'. his style is crude but effective so i'm looking forward to him fighting kessler especially.

i think at the end of the day the tournament will be a success and very difficult to pick a winner.

Not the excitement we all hoped for, both Dirrell and Froch looked ****, mostly because they were too damn cautious... Abraham fights' excitement depends on the opponent's style, if the rival is aggressive, Abraham takes more chances to punish, just watch the Oral fight.

The style clash that looked so interesting on paper didn't live up to the expectations due to all fightes switched to boxer mode, but that doesn't mean Super Six is a failure. It probably did pretty good ratings and it will only get better. Taylor can safely enter the Ward fight without risking a KO loss, and he admitted he was in the best shape of his life. He's not shot. He just tasted all other guys (on a lower level) before.

There are some really nice fights coming up. So let's put it this way: it only can be better, and the first night (debated decision and a HUGE KO) will catch some attention.

Let's judge the whole thing when it's over, and let's all hope it's gonna be over on schedule.

I disagree man - he's shot. The guy is way too timid in the ring. He needs to throw that right but instead goes with a love-tap jab all night. He fights not to lose and that's a shot fighter in my book.

i have to agree. taylor was way too timid.
this was his make or break fight for me after losing to froch. i'll be very surprised if he makes waves in this tournament from here. shame for the guy who dethroned bernard hopkins.

My thoughts on your post are that you are wrong on point one: Dirrell was not robbed.
You are right on point two: Dirrell will never be box office
Point 3: I think any classy fighter would take AA apart
Point 4: I have the feeling Froch took something out of Taylor that he will not get back. He definitely should retire.
Point 5: Your arithmetic is not strong.

i am more pumped than ever Kessler vs Ward and then for the next round.

Controversy sucks but at the same time it sells. The dodgy decision Froch got against Dirrell will have people arguing back and forth for a while, while Abraham's brutal KO of Taylor will as well.

I think the tournament will get alot of viewers and that its still going strong. This format is absolutely great. If it wasn't for this format, Dirrell would be eliminated, but now he can still come back and do better than Froch.

I don't get the shot at the tourney format - what did you learn last night that turned you off it? Dirrell has 2nd chances and close (and especially ugly) fights will always cause debate. Going in, there was always the possibility of an injury or bad losses discouraging continuing.

The best guys (except for Bute) are actually fighting each other and will continue to do so for the next half year.

And still people manage to complain. Unbelievable.
