Its easy to 'take apart' resumes in hindsight. Linares for example, had been knocked out three times by questionable opposition. His best win was either a close decision against Anthony 'Lost Twice to Gary Skyes' Crolla, or a split decision win against Luke 'Mendys son' Campbell. Hardly impressive.

To be fair to Linares he did dominate Crolla EASILY the second fight. But against Campbell, Campbell completely adapted ot him in the second half and won most of those rounds after getting KD early. Campbell is a pretty good fighter imo. His record just ****s him over.

In terms of resume Linares's best wins might be (depending on your criteria) two weight champ Oscar Larios who beat the likes of Wayne McCullough, Israel Vasquez, Takahiro Ao & Cesar Soto (who has a stoppage win over JLC!) He [Larios] also lost a competitive fight to pac in 06 too..

& Gamaliel Diaz who beat Robert Guerrero & Takahiro Ao etc

Both of whom went onto win a world title post Linares..

The Campbell win will get better over time too I suspect..

    Decent fighters.

Not a great resume but a respectful one nonetheless.

You quite literally can't tear Loma's resume apart as you put it because what he's done in 12 fights simply hasn't been done before. Hard to not like a dude who only fights the best.

    You should.

Both @CST80 and @Serge have given actual facts and numbers, it wasn't a "tearing down" at all.

But if you want to add your take on Loma's resume we are all ears.

Well-argued case, but I feel I need more detail before siding...

Great post guys, very thorough and covers assesment of quality of opposition as well as cold hard facts & stastistics.

    So now amateur fights count?

Golovkin > pretty much any MW then.

How many people turn pro, even after long amateur careers, and jump straight in to 12-rounders against top competition, pick up 3 titles in 3 weight divisions and make 4 guys quit in a row, all within 12 fights?

Also, it’s not just about what he’s done. It’s about how.
Lomachenko > Crawford and I’m not taking anything away from Bud, Vasyl is just on another level. Might take him 12 more fights to prove that to doubters, provided he keeps up the pace, but it’s obvious.

There were a few embellishments, half truths etc in this, but I don't disagree in general. I've stated for a long time now that Crawford's resume is not very good. In terms of quality, it is fairly average.
