Again, why are we ignoring the PED scandal that busted Gamboa, conveniently enough, before the Bud fight?

 

I have to say I have never understood the adulation for Bud. Damned good fighter, mean as a junkyard dog but ATG? Come on. He is a top fighter, no question but I saw him do a dance in one of his fights on a so-so punch. I think Crawford's chin is exposed when he gets in with some real bangers.

I agree, I think Loma is head and shoulders above Bud.

I have no opinion in this matter because the real winner is Bob Arum and Top Rank Promotions for having you HOrMOneS fighting over which one of his guys is the best and they are in different division's totally.

Boxing is toothless, but that doesn't mean he was innocent. The evidence was enough for baseball to drop the hammer on 13 players for 50 games or longer. Their doctors did their jobs well, so there's no reason he'd have tested positive- just like BALCO.

Addition: the scandal popped multiple MLB all stars and one of the biggest fish in the sport in A-Rod, who got suspended for a year. That's the scandal Gamboa got nailed by. His involvement only gets ignored because no reporters who like being able to pay for food would choose to focus on Gamboa, who 98% of them haven't even heard of, over A-Rod.

 

I have and I remember your rabid defence of Crawford, who whilst a 2 weight world champion has ruled in 2 of the weakest divisions at the time in boxing.

Lomachenko is far more impressive than Crawford. Hell, Crawford refused to fight Spence or Porter, instead taking the easiest fight in the division, someone who is not a boxer, not on a pro level, had the pure Hell beaten out of him by Pac, the ref almost stopped it, but Pac was badly robbed! So, this is Crawford's greatest fight, Horn? Not even a good amateur, would lose to a woman, a child and kangaroo! This is WWE, it's like Conor and Void, a sick joke and Uncle Bob is laughing at the fans. I will not watch that fight, it is not a fight, it's a disgrace, a total disgrace, a mismatch and even if Horn could fight, and won, no way could he get a decision in Vegas, no way.....................the judges have already filled out their cards

 

Great work, great thread. Crawford has a long way to catch up to Lomachenko's resume. Horn will be a good first step, but I'm thinking we could see an upset.

I actually think p4p is not solely based on resume. Otherwise Horn on paper has a better win than both if you are a boxrec warrior who doesn't understand context. I assume you're not arguing Horn>Crawford are you?! LOL

Careful, cos focusing entirely on resume is a slippery route & I am far more in awe of what VL is consistently doing in the ring (in terms of technicality, showmanship, craft & the 'no mas' & 12 fight's stuff etc too) than what TC is doing, regardless of the trading opponent's arguments.. & even then I favour Lomas opponents for many of the reasons set out in the OP.
