It's in those moments when he is going for the KO when he is too frenetic for me. He takes risks and is willing to trade in these moments when more seasoned pro's will not just jump on an opponent but apply pressure but intelligently and pick there shots rather than just unload with everything like he currently does.

Maybe it's because he hasn't really faced a threat yet and he knows he has nothing to fear in terms of what is coming back, but we will see. I am happy with his progress so far in terms of his level of opposition. I still think he's fighting well within himself, I've seen him do things in the amateur fights he's yet to even show as a pro. That suggests he can go much higher, but until he does I'm going to be cautious in my expectations.

Too early to say for me. If/When Joshua disposes of Whyte, I would like to see him in with a contender such as Lucas Browne or Erkan Teper. There's absolutely no point in giving him opponents who he simply wades through.

I know what you mean, he does seem over eager to get the KO when he sees his man hurt, I just think (and hope) that he's level headed enough to stand back and take his time when he realises it's going to take a bit more to put the opponent away.

I've mixed feelings on it as you can probably tell! On the one hand I totally agree, but playing devils advocate, if you can blast them out then why not?

McCline was actually known for his workrate, and movement early on as a fighter... Go figure... The HBO commentary team always made jokes about it in the early 2000s. But Dinovelvelt says otherwise.

I agree. He's reached the point where simply putting an opponent he can walk through is counter productive. He's had 2 years of easy wins, he needs a challenge to prevent him from regressing. If he's not tested soon it would be completely understandable if he started to lose focus and become complacent.

Next year he needs to face a real test, a proven fighter who can still compete at a decent level. I think Chisora would be a good fight. Chisora lacks real power but has a high pressure style and decent chin so will at the very least put pressure on AJ and it's a fight that could be made as Chisora has never shied away from a challenge. If AJ can also dispose of Chisora faster then Fury or even Haye it will have people claiming he's better than both.

Because he wasn't huge to begin with. Skinny got lean. And Joshuas chest isn't huge... Fury's bigger.
