    Appreciation Thread
Hernán Márquez Beltrán is a 5'3 27 year old Super Flyweight/Flyweight with a 38-6-1 28 KO's 6 KO losses record. Born in and fighting out of Empalme, Sonora, Mexico. Hernan was nicknamed Tyson because of his aggressive Mike Tyson like seek and destroy style, and because of that style he's paid dearly by being knocked down more times than I can count. Marquez a pro since 2005 is shockingly still a young man but because of all of the wars and losses he's nearing the end of his career at an age when many fighters of today are just turning pro. But thanks to that style he's also given the fans much to appreciate by putting on some incredibly valiant performances in the face of certain defeat, and fighting like a real man with massive cojones when many others would just pack it in and go home. He's the definition of a true Mexican Guerrero, he's been KO'd by some of the best Nonito Donaire,, Brian Viloria, Giovani Segura, McJoe Arroyo and most recently Juan Francisco Estrada he was down a total of 7 times in that match. His two signature wins are over El Nica Luis Concepcion of Panama the first fight was a FOTY classic that he won by 11th doctor stoppage the second was an obliteration he took Concepcion out in 1. So take a little time and appreciate this little Tough As Nails Flyweight Warrior for all the brilliant wars he's been through for us. Tyson Is A Beast.:toney:toney:toney:toney

I'm glad you did this thread. He doesn't get nearly the recognition a blood and guts warrior like him deserves. People talk about Gatti, but he regularly outweighed his opponents massively so I don't think he could be compared with a Marquez.

Speaking of Marquez' I never thought Rafa got his proper dues either, from the public at least.

He's becoming my new favorite boxer! Guy's a warrior and should get a lot more attention! Watched the Viloria fight and blew me away even though he lost. Wanna see him in big fights

It's a pity HBO didn't start caring about Flyweights until now, they missed a lot of great fights from Tyson. Someone should have told HBO if you build it they will come. How do they expect fans to care if they don't put some effort into making them.

Tyson Marquez has as much heart as any fighter ever has.

The Concepcion fights are an interesting example of one fighter losing a series of fights, but having the actual upwards career trajectory as opposed to the winner.

El Nica should win this time.
