Good to see Marquez back in action again, real talent at just 23.

Solid match up but Marquez should beat Mayol convincingly.

Thoughts on the fight? And how far can Marquez go providing he wins on Saturday night, possible opponents?

It's been a couple of years since the Donaire fight now as well.

I know, it's hard to believe he was 21 when he fought Nonito, put in a good effort aswell, considering how inexperienced he was.

I don't think his performance vs. Donaire was particularly noteworthy. Nonito was in cruise control really, fighting southpaw and not looking particularly good doing so but he was still able to stop him.

I'd personally be a bit disappointed if I were Tyson, we've seen how good he can be vs. Concepcion but he wasn't able to capitalise at all vs. Donaire when he was looking pretty vulnerable, in the sense of not getting his shots off as accurately as normal.

He was young and inexperienced when he fought Donaire. Hes shown great improvement since then. Can hardly blame him for getting knocked out by an incredible talent like Nonito.

Hope Mayol nuts him and sparks him out. I like the dirty puncher. Marquez has looked very good, but it'd be ace to see Mayol nut someone again.

Did he not also fight Donaire above his natural weight-class?

Marquez looks like a good talent, I was dreaming of a Segura-Marquez matchup, but after seeing Marquez' power v Concepcion and what Viloria did to Gio, I could see it ending badly for Segura.

Mayol's pulled out as him and his manager are claiming Marquez was overweight :-(

story is over at the scene, Marquez was 2 lbs over on 4 attempts then they claimed he made weight, started drinking water and therefore too late for a 5th attempt.

    Can't blame him.

I'm not amused, Marquez should be making weight, he's only 5 ft 2.
