I think Marquez is a different fighter from when he faced Mepranum. If you notice Marquez in his recent fights he tries to attack from angles and tries to maintain distance better, but he is a natural brawler from what it seems. He didn't try to do that from what I remember in the Mepranum fight.

It wasn't so much an issue of greenness, IMO. He had looked the better boxer on film even heading into the Mepranum fight. I picked him with supreme confidence and trumpeted what a mismatch it was, and got egg all over my face. I love watching him compete, but it will be hard for me to ever altogether forgive him for losing to that bum. :yep

How did he perform against nonito? I know he was so much smaller.

Also he was a big underdog in the first fight right?

He didn't embarrass himself against Donaire or anything (in fact, he performed better than he did against Mepranum, oddly enough). It was just a case of great big man vs. very good little man. He didn't really have a prayer of getting into the fight, but did manage to snag a few rounds before Nonito picked up the pace and stopped him.

Against Luis Concepcion? He was a solid underdog (probably thanks in no small part to the consecutive losses to the two Filipinos last year, plus Concepcion having the momentum of coming off the title win against Kaovichit), but not massive. Probably the opposite of what they are now, with Marquez at -180 and Concepcion at +220.

    Expecting another war.

Marquez has the handspeed, combinations, technique and footspeed, a better brain, movement the list goes on ....

Concepion the aggression and power ...

Based on rumours that preparation has not been ideal for Marquez, that Concepion has learnt a lesson from the first fight and is coming off a good win I'm gonna take Concepion in this one :bbb

I don't know that he has any more than Marquez, really.

    Both can crack.
