Herol Graham vs. Terry Norris

Wow this is a tough one ! Both fast Norris has the edge. Bomber is the more awkward and harder to work out. both hit well Both don't have brilliant chops ! I really can't pick a winner !!!!! .first time ever !!

 

Despite not fighting similarly at all, these two have vaguely similar strengths and weaknesses, and those strengths don't really exploit the weaknesses well.

They're both speedsters, Graham probably more of a pure mover, as Norris liked to plant when he threw more than Graham did. Both sometimes left themselves open while throwing, making them susceptible to counterpunches, but neither was a standout counterpuncher. They both preferred to initiate when punching, and to dart away from punches on defense. Norris is more capable of boxing conventionally, and has the better jab and more power. I don't mean pound for pound there. He had more power than the bigger man Graham, although we never saw how well it played against a much larger fighter. Neither had a good chin.

I just don't see how Norris catches Graham, though. Graham has almost twelve inches on him in reach. Maybe Norris has the better jab, but I don't see how he can even use it. With the much longer reach and equal footspeed, Graham is going to be the one dictating when the exchanges happen, even in spite of his poking and infrequent jabs. Graham's going to be popping in and out with those straight lefts all fight, and Norris isn't enough of a counterpuncher to wait out Graham's mistakes. I don't really see him having success turning swarmer or taking big gambles, either. Best bet for a Norris win is if Graham gets overconfident and Norris catches him with a big shot, but that was never really Norris's game. He'll have to do something out of character to win this.
