*sigh* When will people start to understand that it's those athletes who are serious about their sport and determined to be the best they can be who are the most likely candidates for PED use, not the lazy, unathletic blobs too lacking to get ahead naturally. Sure, you get PED users at all levels of the game, but in most cases it's ignorance or carelessness that leads to them getting caught. A fighter like Ward, IMO, will never be caught out because, thanks to Conte, he's too far ahead of the system. The same is likely true for any other top fighter who treats their profession seriously, including all the big names. Just FYI, I'm a Sergio fan who's over the moon he beat Chavez, but I wouldn't be the least surprised or even disappointed to learn that he was taking something. Whether he is or isn't, however, doesn't really change my level of respect for him.
Either Mayweather or Butterbean. If Butterbean used Diuretics, I think I would get an extra chromosome just from hearing that.
Really? Hopkins is prime candidate for testosterone replacement therapy with a therapeutic use exemption. In fact I'd be ****ing shocked if didn't have one.
Also, people saying Marquez . . . Really? I love the guy, but there's a reason he hired a PED dealer as his strength and conditioning coach for the Pacquiao fight. You know, the guy who only escaped prison by agreeing to be a state witness in the case against his former colleagues, the guy who claims to have invented a number of undetectable variations of growth hormone and EPO, the guy who was strangely operating under an alias for the Marquez camp. That guy.
Exactly. Clean fighters will be the exception rather than the rule. Doping is rife at the top level of pretty much all sports, even those with the strictest all year round testing. Boxing probably has the worst testing of any professional sport while having the most at stake - yet people seem to think that doping isn't that common. People are really deluding themselves if they think that for some reason boxers are morally superior to athletes in other sports.
I think most of them are on something. So no one would shock me most. Least shock: Wlad, Vitali, Mayweather, Haye, Ward, Martinez
I'm surprised at all the Malignaggi mentions in this thread. The Paulie of 2-3 years ago I'd agree with, but the way he's looked since moving to welter and working at Wild Card makes him a prime suspect IMO.
