I know we got some amateur fighters here so I'd most like to hear their views on this, as they've had experience with this, but I'll welcome anyone's opinion: I hear this more often in MMA, but you hear it in boxing, too, guys will say, in talking about their opponent, "he's never been past x rounds," giving that as a disadvantage that the opponent will have in the fight with them. When guys say this, is it more because of the physical challenge of fighting for so many rounds or is it something mental? If mental, why is fighting X rounds harder than however many rounds the guy has gone in the past?
its more experience-based, if you fought more championship rounds than somebody who never went distance, you will have advantage in experience part. That doesnt mean that you will win. Some guys want to quit after 7,8 rounds even when they have stamina to continue, just because they never experienced such exhaustion, mentally and physicaly.
So you're saying its more the mental strain of dealing with being in competition, the pressure and all that? And with experience you learn to deal with that, is that right?
