with them fighting 2 times and floyd 1 time a year, there is no time for tune-ups. i understand if theya re fighting at least 3 times a year, they could squeeze a tune-up once in a while but for pac and floyd's case now, there is no need for tune-up.
:deal lol great post enough with peeps bellyaching and complaining about lousy fights, but still paying for them and complaining about the fight. i DID watch the fight, but i sure didnt complain about it. Did know how the outcome would be, that it would be lopsided, but sure didnt expect Mosley to go yellow belly on us.... Still enjoyed the performances, though it could have been bettered by Mosley I wanted the Marquez fight for quite some time - its happening NAO!
well, i think promoters are pressured to make the most out of every fight out of a premier fighter. Fighters these days are fighting less frequently than fighters of old. Maybe thats why even "tune-up" fights are even PPV events... Tune-ups help - *remove ring rust and confidence gainer from long rests/vacations *help fighter gain experience/prepare using a lesser but stylistically comparable fighter for a fight in the future... *Confidence booster from a loss *test a recovered injury Tune-ups still applicable today as from before. Even more so considering the fighters arent as active as they used to be. A fighter who fights at least twice a year shouldnt need tune-ups for ring rust/long vacations at least...
