I think to much importance is being placed on mundines recent lack of K.O's.
Although K.Os look good on your resume, fighting is mainly speed, balance, footwork and tactics/fitness.
If the K.O is there to be taken then obviously take it,but with more rounds, comes more experience, comes more wins etc and the less important K.Os become.

Choc was/is talented there is no doubting that but so to was David Reid the American Gold medallist who had an unfulfilled career. It's easy to look talented and flashy against sparing partners in the gym or against cabbies in the ring but you need to do it against elite level or top class level opposition.
Imo Wlad Klitschko has the best jab in boxing.

Most of the people in Mundines camp now think 160 is where Mundine should be....they have only just started to think this way in the last year.

The thing is Mundine came in from the NRL weighing 86kgs....as we know boxing is another game so he lost 10kgs to fight.

It looks like Mundine started at the wrong weight :deal

I dont mean to be too picky here but you seem to like Danny Green.

Didnt Danny do exactly the same thing? Say he was fighting at the wrong weight after over 20 fights at that weight?

The only difference as I see it is Mundine made the decision by himself, Green did it after being embarrassed out of the division because he didnt want a rematch with an opponent who thoroughly dismantled his attack and then dominated every aspect of the fight.

Pretty sure you got it wrong.

Mundines staff always wanted him that light. Going in to SM was a combination of a couple of things.

    1) Mundine felt that one of the reasons that his dad didnt get a world championship was because he was made to fight too light. Think he has always had a bit of a fear of losing too much weight. Mundine knew he needed to be lighter but was hesitant to go as light as his staff wanted.

He mentions the stuff about his dad in his book.

    2) Dodging Bhop.

    3) he probably would have started out at LH if it werent for Roy being there. He probably would have had a go in any of those 3 weight classes to start with but wanted a quick title and saw Ottke as his best option.

I liked the fact that Danny Green won a legit world title after years of trying , i don't like Danny Green for his failure to defend it after his opponent trained for the shot only to be left high and dry , ( thats my only beef with Danny ) .

Some of this I can agree on however I know some of Mundines camp hate him going down in weight....my point still stands Mundine started at the wrong weight.

Well i was laughed at by certain memebers here when i suggested a move to middleweight when it became obvious Mundine didn't have what it takes to win a proper 168lb title ..um two years back ...
