A coupla things i usually see when people hesitate to throw front hook or uppercut is ¤ they are way overrotated and/or to heavy on their lead foot. ¤ the punch is off "natural body rythm" ¤ the line of the punch is too wide (leaving them feeling exposed) Without having seen you throw and off the top of my head i´d say - check balance and prepunch rotation. If they are too much your punch will be slow and not snappy - check your rear shoulder pull..... by not pulling hard with your rear shoulder you´ll slow down in mid punch - check the position of your body in relation to your punch, if your arm is "way behind" it takes time to deliver..... try punching more "in front of you" compared to basically having your side turned towards your opponent when u connect.
