Day after day I see the same sissy fight fans complaining about a guys lack of defence instead of complimenting the other guys offence. Yes it is hit and don't get hit, but there really is more emphasis on the hit part. Do you think Pacquiao was concentrating on defence against Margarito? No, he was too busy punching him in the face. Margarito didn't give a **** about defence against Cotto, he was too busy whipping his ass in the second half of the fight and brutally stopping him. Paul Williams gets hassled for his style, yet it's been working for him for a long time, he's just getting older now. Do you really think people have just started to figure out that PWill has bad defence? No. Everyone and even their mother knew he had bad defence. Everyone goes into a williams fight knowing exactly what he's gonna do, but nine times out of ten a well thought out game plan goes out the window when Paul starts punching you 100 times per round. My point is that some fans think that anyone that has ever scored a KO had nothing to do with it, it was the guy that got KO'd not having defence. Floyd and Klitschko really spawned a bunch of weak fight fans, you guys do know this is a fight, right?
I rather watch a Mexican pressure boxer fight over a slick black any day of the week. Offense = excitement.
Poor defense will get you your ass kicked at the elite level and endanger your health. Stupid thread.
I'm not saying defence is bad. But when a guy gets KO'd some of you yawn, but will blow your load over Garcia vs Concepcion. Elitist boxing snobs that would rather watch so you think you can dance boxing edition type footwork.
I ****ing love those slugging matches.. Thats what boxing is about! If anyone has anything bad to say about it I will **** them up. They could come to my gym and see a man, Im a ****ing man. :hat
There's nothing wrong with criticizing a fighter's defensive flaws or appreciating smooth technical boxing, but I do agree with your statement that people would rather criticize one fighter's defense instead of giving credit to his opponent's effective offense.
Anybody who uses the word SISSY in any sentance relating to any subject that could ever be created has to be gay as hell
