I think wih Khan it's more due to the fact that he is perceived in sme quarters to be a bit of a c*nt! He has had any number of driving incidents in his flash cars and I personally have heard stories about him that I'm not sure if I can repeat on here. Add to that the fact that he's had the usual prospect's build up and hype, and there is always that section of the great British public who want to see someone get taken down a step or two, illogical though it sometimes is.

Generally, if a fighter proves themself, is an alright kinda person and wants to test themselves against the best we Brits will support them to the hilt and don't give up on them just because they lose once or twice either (witness the legions who followed Hatton to the States for the Castillo and PBF fights and the 55,000 who showed up for his comeback over here).

most brits ****in hate a guy like khan whose hyped to **** before he's punched his way outta a toilet. I feel sorry for him (a bit) cuz he just doesnt have the charisma in interviews but still fell for his own hype machine. The funniest part of all this is sky and warren have made him pay per view already, when he's not even certain to beat (eg) john murray or thaxton. He's pretty much snookered,,,he needs a few easy fights against nobodies but sky want there moneys worth!

p.s most british boxing fans never really believed the hype- but we love an underdog so I can see us getting behind him more now, thats just the way english people are (remember eddie the eagle edwards?!)

  7. Yeah but let's say Khan straightens up his game and comes back strong. What are you Britty's gonna do then. Hop right on his jock again and forget all about him getting KTFO

His chin will always be a liability. The only way he'll win a world title is if Warren works his magic with the WBO. If he does icomes back strong and beat good opposition I'll give him credit for it but I (and most of the guys on the Brit forum) were never on the Khan bandwagon in the first place.

  11. The thing is being from the U.S., I don't back every fighter that comes out of my country let alone from a state. I tend to back the fighters who hail from the same city as I. I don't dislike british fighters. There are plenty british fighters that have no recognition here in the U.S. and they are super exciting fighters. Since Khan turned pro, I've only seen a few Brits not back this guy. Hey represent where you are from and your hometown. Don't turn your back on the people representing for you.

He is a British based Pakistani with a piece of paper called British passport.I somehow doubt that that many British posters support him. I may be wrong of course.

If he comes back a bit more humble he may get some support. He was an arrogant Warren cash-cow who couldn't back up his own claims of potential greatness and was heavily disliked on the Brit forum.

However I don't think your interested in rational, objective debate. I think your far more interested in attacking a group of people (brits in this case) for whatever bigotted reason. Who really cares.:dead

I don't particularly doubt his 'Britishness' though he is proud of his Pakistani heritage, and rightly so IMO.

However - part of the Pakistani (and Muslim generally perhaps) is to listen to one's elders, not just parents and trusted family members. It seems he has lots of, shall we say, outside influences that know very little about boxing and the way it works.

Amateur boxing is of course simple, you qualify for your event, get drawn against opponents one, two and three - away you go.

Pro boxing you have to build toward something and learn about the game - something he has failed to do, in a big way.

Khan might have the worst Glass Jaw in the sport right now.
