Jee whizz you're either a complete **** or else just the general forum's version of Flint! Those Brit boxing fans who supported him in the first place will still do so. We're not fickle Americans, we support our guys and don't lose interest cos they have a setback or two. The (probably) vast majority who don't like him will probably watch nonetheless in the hope of seeing him get KTFO again! In terms of the general public, the interest and the hype machine will probably build again slowly but surely with every fight he wins...

You're way off mark with this believe me, Kahn has decent support with casual sports fans but I'd say the majority of Brit boxing fans didn't like him BEFORE he got KO'd, so theres no "turning your back" gone on.

 

I'm guessing you have only actually read a few British posters then? Over here we don't select our fighters based on where they come from. We judge them as fighters based on their ability in the ring and support them based on a combination of this and their personality and desire to be the best. There's none of this "He's from my country therefore he must be great" attitude which is so ingrained in some American posters than they don't even realise they have it. We judge on merit.

Read the Brit forum, you might learn something. Calzaghe, Hatton, Froch, Witter, Arthur, some of the biggest name fighters around on the British scene and all have their detractors on there. I lost count of the number of people who laughed their asses off when Khan and Fraudley got KO'd. The fact that they're British matters not one jot. But, unlike the other side of the Atlantic, those who did support them will continue to do so and will not be put off by the odd setback (ok 3 in Audley's case) along the way. Just how we as fans differ from you guys.

Again, very few Brit fans "were on his jock" in the first place. He's never been the figure of adoration with boxing fans than you seem to think he has. TBH you picked totally the wrong fighter to start a trolling type thread with...

 

He picked half a dozen of them tbf. The similar threads regarding Hatton, Calzaghe, Froch and whoever else he picked died a fairly rapid death. What is it they say though, if you throw enough lines in you're bound to get a bite eventually....

 

Since when has Khan been heaped with "love" on the forum? The only thing that has probably changed is that he now perhaps gets less hate.

 

this is classic from the European fans..Hype Hype Hype lose denounce forget hate...Over the years I have seen this happen time and time again. Remember the Hatton hype train, now nothing, its not as if Hatton lost to a bum. He lost to the p4p king and he made a good account for himself, now he is a fat bum in many of there minds...They have seemed to forgone that with Kessler, but thats only because he lost to Calzaghe another European fighter, now the claim is that he is the second best and that only Calzaghe could beat him...Khan is a real talent, chin is iffy but talent wise he is better then Hatton, and Kessler.

 

Talent is no good if you shatter like a china cup after eating a jab in the first round.

This wasn't Nigel Benn getting KO'd by Michael Watson or Chico vs Floyd at all.

 

Thats true especially by gomez because I have always like his style of fighting.
